Help Support Sands

Sands groups around the country are funded through grants and donations. We are not a government funded organisation. We greatly appreciate your support to help us continue supporting bereaved parents, families and whanau throughout New Zealand.

We are aware of the importance of knowing how your donation has been spent and wanting to support your local community. If you would like your donation to be spent in your local region, we will direct your money to your local group. If you want it to be spent in a particular way, for example on Moses baskets or books, please let us know that as well. If you do not state how the money is to be spent, please be assured it will go towards supporting parents, families and whanau through a variety of ways - the hosting costs of this website, support packs that are distributed in the hospitals, and our part-time National Coordinator who responds to all enquiries from families and health professionals.

Currently we do not have the facility to accept credit card payments so the best way for you to make a donation is either by cheque or through Internet banking.

By Cheque

Please send a cheque to:

Sands New Zealand
PO Box 13-435
Johnsonville
Wellington 6440

If you are clear about where or how you want the money to be spent - please tell us.

Alternatively, send a cheque directly to your local group - see details on the National Contacts page for your local group's details.

If you would like a receipt, please make sure we have your details.

Internet Banking

You can make a donation through the 'Pay Anyone' function on Internet Banking. Please email our treasurer to receive our bank account and in that email, please let us know if you want the money spent in a specific region or in any particular way.

Again, if you would like a receipt, please let us know and provide us with your details so we can send it to you.

If you would like to discuss different ways of donating to Sands or about Sands in general, please contact Catherine Bronnimann on (06) 343-3648 or by email.

Sands New Zealand is a not-for-profit organisation and we are in the process of registering with the Charities Commission. Donations over $5 may be tax-deductible and are receipted.

Coronation Street stillbirth storyline

In late April- early May, Coronation St aired episodes in the UK that included a stillbirth experienced by one of their central characters. In the UK, ITV and Sands UK worked together to ensure that contact details for support and information followed each episode. We are hoping to provide similar local information when the episodes are aired here in NZ.
